Corrective Exercises

Picture
Exercise is what most people first think of when it comes to physical therapy. This is the case for a very good reason... it works!

The research has proven time and time again, that prescriptive exercises, guided by a physical therapist, are one of the best options against many musculoskeletal injuries. While not as much fun as a nice massage, not as quick as an injection, or simple as taking a few pills, it is most often the best way to get at the root cause of the problem.

Getting at the root of the problem is really the key. I often have come across people who have a list a mile long of exercises that they have done in the past, but inevitably stop performing over time. While sometimes they might not be needed anymore, my goal is to leave you with a simple, pared down program consisting of 2 to 5 stretches and exercises that you can work into a daily habit.

Being a physical therapist has a wide range of “best moments” that make the job enjoyable. One of my favorite of these is to run into a patient patient who tells me that they are still doing their exercises and have had no pain since they stopped working with me!
