FAQ
Q How long are appointments?
Generally, appointments will last around an hour. I try to schedule my appointments in such a way that I am flexible. Sometimes we need more time, other times we may finish a little early...whatever works best each time we meet.
Q How often will we meet?
This is where we get to really customize your plan. I am not beholden to any company metrics and productivity standards. So you won’t find me pushing any particular frequency of sessions on you! Most often, we will be working together either 1 or 2 times per week. I have worked with some clients 3 or 4 days a week when they really wanted it and needed immediate help. On the other end of the spectrum, if you are very independent with a program, or are only looking for guidance on your journey, we can meet less frequently, check in virtually etc. Since it is just me and you working together, we build the program out to fit your needs!
Q Do you take my Insurance?
We accept Medicare, Medicare Advantage Plans, most forms of commercial insurance and also work with some patients on a private pay basis. As we have our first conversation to determine if we are a good fit to work together, we will review your insurance policy and verify your benefits. After that, I can give you a very transparent breakdown of the financial responsibility you will have. Find out more about insurance coverage.
Q Do you coordinate with my doctor?
Yes, I make sure to complete my notes promptly and send them to your referring doctor so that they are well informed of your progress. Another benefit of me having more time for each person I work with is the ability to actually call your doctor to discuss concerns.
Q Do I need a referral from my Doctor to have Physical Therapy?
In the State of Maine, you do not need a referral to get started with physical therapy. We will need to communicate with them to get our plan of care signed within a month of us getting started together. So don’t wait, it is better for us to get started addressing your concerns sooner rather than later.
Q Do you accept Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) or Health Savings Accounts (HSAs)?
Yes! Just let me know up front that is what you will be using and we can pay each visit or keep a card on file to charge at the end of each session.
Q What is your cancellation policy?
I don’t have one! This may change in the future if it becomes an issue, but I want this to be a low pressure, comfortable experience for you. Life is busy, things happen, people get sick. If you have to cancel or reschedule a visit, we will connect another time and I will always be able to fill that time with something productive. I just ask that when possible, you reach out to me before I am actively headed your way.
Q How do I get started?
If you would like to get started, please email me at [email protected] or ask your physician to reach out. We will assess your current situation, and come up with a care plan. If you like, you can prepare intake forms in advance of your first appointment. I look forward to working with you!
