How We Treat
I have been fortunate to have access to a very high level education during my initial training at Husson University and through continuing education coursework after graduation.
The main treatment philosophy which guides my practice is the Selected Functional Movement Assessment and Titleist Performance Institute certifications. These evaluation/treatment strategies provide an excellent framework for breaking down movement patterns to get to the root cause of pain and dysfunction.
My systematic approach takes every patient through three main phases, mobility, stability, and strength.
Mobility - What this means is that we will first focus on improving your range of motion, flexibility, and addressing fundamental movement patterns. You will start to feel better as you start to move better!
Stability – If you have struggled with a cycle of stretching, feeling tight, and stretching again, with little carryover or forward progress, it is often because this stage has been missed. Here we look to “lock in” the gains have made in the mobility phase.
Strength – Now it is time to put it all together, work hard, and break a sweat! The final phase is taking the improved movement and loading it with higher level exercises. This phase is critical in allowing you to function in every day life and any sport or recreational activity that you enjoy. This phase looks different for everyone, whether it is the ability to get out of a chair, lift heavy groceries, hike, or hit your best drive on the golf course, we tailor our exercises to fit you.
