Deabay PT Now Offering Focused Shockwave Therapy (ESWT)

We’re excited to announce that Deabay PT is now offering Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT) using our new Chattanooga Intelect Focus Shockwave system.
Focused ESWT is a non-invasive treatment that delivers high-energy acoustic waves to injured tissues, stimulating the body’s natural healing response. Over the past two decades, numerous randomized controlled trials and systematic reviews have demonstrated the effectiveness of shockwave therapy for several chronic musculoskeletal conditions, particularly persistent tendon and fascia disorders that have not responded fully to traditional treatments.
Strong clinical evidence supports the use of focused shockwave therapy for:
  • Chronic plantar fasciitis (heel pain)
  • Tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis)
  • Calcific tendinopathy of the shoulder
  • Patellar tendinopathy ("jumper's knee")
  • Certain chronic Achilles tendon disorders
  • Greater trochanteric pain syndrome (lateral hip pain)
Research has shown that focused ESWT can reduce pain, improve function, and help stimulate tissue healing in many patients with chronic symptoms. Evidence is particularly strong for plantar fasciitis, where multiple randomized controlled trials and meta-analyses have demonstrated significant improvements in pain and function compared with placebo treatment. Focused shockwave therapy has also shown favorable outcomes for lateral elbow tendinopathy and several chronic tendon disorders.
Common Conditions Treated with ESWT
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Achilles tendinopathy
  • Patellar tendinopathy
  • Tennis elbow
  • Rotator cuff tendinopathy
  • Calcific shoulder tendinitis
  • Greater trochanteric pain syndrome
  • Proximal hamstring tendinopathy
  • Medial tibial stress syndrome (shin splints)
  • Select bone stress injuries and delayed healing conditions
Benefits of Focused Shockwave Therapy
  • Non-surgical and drug-free
  • Minimal downtime
  • Stimulates the body's natural healing processes
  • Can improve pain and function in chronic injuries
  • Complements a comprehensive rehabilitation program
  • May help patients avoid more invasive procedures
At Deabay PT, focused shockwave therapy is integrated with individualized rehabilitation and strength-based treatment to maximize outcomes. If you're struggling with persistent tendon pain or a chronic musculoskeletal condition, contact us to learn whether ESWT may be right for you.
